Carmen Agra Deedy

Carmen Agra Deedy is the author of several popular children’s books. Her children’s books have won numerous awards. She is also known internationally for her master storytelling skills. She was born in Havana, Cuba and came to the U.S. as a refugee in 1964. Some of her most beloved books include 14 Cows for America, The Yellow Star, Martina the Beautiful Cockroach and Library Dragon.

We had a wonderful time listening to her storytelling of personal accounts and folktales.

A special thanks to The Advancement Center, the Fox Hill PTO, and Kids Ink Children’s Bookstore for their support of this project.
